Troon Home

Troon Home

Although this sprawling Troon North mansion is only a few years old the owner decided that it was time to upgrade to the latest audio and video technology. We started in the living room, which had an aging 55” TV located in a lower cabinet. There were two problems with the existing TV. It was too low to be seen from the kitchen area and too small for the space. Arizona Audio Visual installed a Samsung UN75JU7100 75” 4K TV and found a much better location for the TV above the fireplace. The results were amazing allowing family and friends to easily see the TV from anywhere in the space, not to mention the crystal clear 4K image.

For sound in the living room, existing ceiling speakers were used for left, right and surround channels. For the center channel, which is arguably, the most important speaker in the surround system we decided to go with a Martin Logan Motion 50XT center channel. This is an amazing sounding speaker from a global leader in sound technology. Moving to the master bedroom, Arizona Audio Visual installed a smaller UN60JU6500 60” 4K TV. There was no need to relocate the TV, as the original fireplace location was ideal for the space.

As far as sound, the existing system included a whole home amplifier, which we utilized as part of the new system. We added a Sonos Connect device to the system that allows the family to control sound and sound sources via their smart devices including smart phones, tablets or any device that can download the Sonos app. The end result is a sound system that can be controlled from anywhere in the home and has access to extensive online music services. In addition, audio signals from the TV receiver can be selected as a sound source throughout the whole home (great when the game is on).

Upgrading to new technology can be a challenge. Unless your home is brand new, the wiring that your builder installed is probably not up to the task accommodating the latest technology. Fortunately, there are several clever tools at our disposal that can make the task much easier. In this home for example, the builder installed CAT5 cables to both TV locations. This allowed us to utilize HDBaseT technology. HDBaseT allows us to transmit UHD (4K) video signals over the CAT5.

If you’re ready to take up a notch give us a call we will be happy to visit your home and do a thorough analysis of your existing system and come up solutions that will allow you to take advantage of the latest technology.
